We are seeking a dedicated and certified Nursing Assistant to join our team for full-time evening and weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing compassionate care and possess the necessary qualifications and experience to excel in a long-term care environment.


Qualifications

  • Must have New York State Nursing Assistant Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or RQI certs only)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long-term care (LTC) or CNA capacity
  • Must be licensed for at least one year


Responsibilities

  • Perform direct and indirect resident care under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, adhering to the scope of practice as defined by certification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, focusing on adult and geriatric patient groups.
  • Meet residents' activities of daily living (ADL) needs as outlined in the plan of care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Maintain residents' environment and safety, including answering call lights, ensuring cleanliness, and using safety equipment appropriately.
  • Meet residents' nutritional needs, honoring preferences and choices, while completing documentation per protocol.
  • Address residents' rehabilitative needs, including range of motion, ambulation, and transfers, following the plan of care.
  • Report residents' rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse promptly.
  • Identify and report changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse.


Additional Information

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
