Designer I - Wall Panel Designer

Job Summary

Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of bids, quotes, and production-ready designs for roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and/or EWP for single family construction. Demonstrated ability to complete projects with design complexity up to a Level 3 plan, with assistance required only on Level 4 and 5 plans. Works independently with other UFP departments, including sales and operations, to effectively meet and exceed customer expectation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a minimum of one year of service

• Demonstrated ability to effectively complete assignments independently, providing high quality service to internal and external customers

• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards (lumber basics, load calculation and development, building code, UFP design standards, etc.)

• Ability to support and mentor other trainees

• Recommendation by direct supervisor or manager
