Your Job

The Guardian Glass facility in Carleton, MI is looking for a Maintenance Planner! In this role you will help increase equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and strengthen coordination between Maintenance and Production. Through effective planning, parts readiness, and collaboration, you'll ensure maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to operations.

What You Will Do

  • Review and approve production maintenance requests and plan work that improves safety, uptime, and operational reliability
  • Plan, order parts, and prepare work orders to enable safe, efficient, and well coordinated execution by maintenance technicians
  • Foster open communication among technicians, operations, and supervisors to support shared priorities and execution clarity
  • Utilize and maintain the CMMS to improve data accuracy and work management reliability
  • Develop Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for non standard work and ensure safe work practices are followed
  • Create and update preventive maintenance procedures to support reliable long term asset health
  • Apply sound judgment to balance urgent break in work with scheduled activities while providing weekly forecasts for scheduling
  • Collaborate with Area Leaders to prioritize upcoming work based on operational needs and maintenance readiness
  • Partner with maintenance and reliability teams to optimize manpower planning and resource coordination

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience planning skilled trades maintenance activities
  • Experience creating and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical drive systems
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as EAM / Infor
