DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The Division of Student Affairs and Success (DSAS) provides campus-wide coordination and leadership for student success programs and activities across departments, divisions, colleges, and administrative units. The Student Success and Equity portfolio of departments is a branch of DSAS focused on academic support services, advising/counseling, student life / co-curricular programming, student identity development, and retention/student success initiatives. Student Success and Equity provides services to the campus community with over 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students and has over 75 career employees and 475 student staff employees operating across eight facilities/locations. The Student Success and Equity area includes a wide array of multi-disciplinary academic and non-academic units including: Disability Resource Center (DRC), Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP), Learning Support Services, Services for Transfer, Re-entry and Resilient Scholars (STARRS), Renaissance Scholars Program, Veteran Resource Center, African American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC), American Indian Resource Center (AIRC), Asian American/Pacific Islander Resource Center (AA/PIRC), Chicano/Latino Resource Center (El Centro), Women's Center (WC), the Lionel Cantu Queer Center (LGBTQ+), Undocumented Student Services (USS), the UCSC Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives (HSI) grant and campus committees/programs, and the Administrative and Business team for the unit. The Student Success and Equity area includes all of the units and over 125 state, federal, student service fees and gift fund sources and an annual operating budget of nearly $20 million dollars. More information can be found at: https://studentsuccess.ucsc.edu/division/units/sse/ JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Equity (AVC SSE), the Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative, project, and communications support to advance the mission and initiatives of Student Success and Equity. This position plays a key role in coordinating complex calendars and travel, supporting strategic projects and events, and ensuring smooth operations across the division. The Executive Assistant exercises independent judgment in prioritizing tasks, managing sensitive information, and anticipating needs in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role requires exceptional organizational skills, discretion with highly sensitive information, and the ability to navigate complex issues and relationships with professionalism and tact. The Executive Assistant will address problems of diverse scope that will require demonstrating good judgment in selecting and suggesting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. APPOINTMENT INFORMATION Budgeted Salary: $75,849.52 - $80,482.38 / Annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
