Grosse Pointe Outpatient Pharmacy- Full time, rotating shift About Corewell Health Grosse Pointe Hospital Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric and critical care services. In March 2012, the Cotton Family Birth Center at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital was designated aBaby-Friendlybirth center by Baby-Friendly USA. Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is also home to TheJames and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning, technological advancements and a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches. Scope of Work Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures. Enters patient demographics, insurance information and prescriptions into the pharmacy information system, prioritizing scripts for customers waiting. Appropriately handles and reprocesses rejected claims. Processes prescriptions, retrieves correct medication, fills and labels prescription and attaches any necessary notifications. Files completed scripts in the patient pickup bins after pharmacist verification. Answers telephone and assists customers at the lobby counter and Pharmacy drive-through window. Updates and electronically transmits the daily drug order - monitors and documents/communicates special orders and shortages. Processes daily drug order from wholesaler, stocks drug shelves, checks for outdated drugs, logs controlled drugs and files invoices. Contacts supplier to resolve discrepancies on invoice. Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas, patient bedside and/or other departments of the Hospital. Reconciles cash drawer twice daily (opening and closing) and documents per policy. Performs other record keeping duties as required. Assists in training of new staff and a resource for IT support personal. Maintains work area in a safe and orderly manner. Cleaning and dusting of work areas and shelves. Disinfecting of high touch points such as counters, credit card devices, phones, counting utensils and signature pads. May rotate to other outpatient pharmacy sites/home delivery pharmacy as needed. Qualifications Required A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high school diploma program or GED. Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program.
