Responsibilities

Fabrication Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining production, quality, and yields while ensuring a safe work environment
  • Ensuring that product is produced to company specification
  • Holding employee meetings to communicate and teach safety, policy, quality, and other information and requirements
  • Training employees to ensure that they are following proper procedures and policies while conforming to customer requirements. Providing corrective action/discipline if needed
  • Learning the specifics of each position within your area of responsibility
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate Kronos records for payroll
  • Ensuring employee safety by correcting and documenting all safety violations immediately
  • Working to minimize the impact of any employee injury, having concern of injured employee first and then investigating, documenting, then implementing corrective measures
  • Working to instill cooperation in others
  • Ensuring employees are properly trained and equipped (Fitting employees with appropriate protective equipment and training them as to the proper wearing, inspection, and cleaning of equipment)
  • Ensuring that all employees' questions and problems are responded to in a timely manner
  • Conducting self in a profession manner at all times, treating all employees fairly and consistent with corporate policy and facility guidelines
  • Ensuring all schedules jobs are filled at the beginning of the shift and throughout
  • Reviewing production schedules to ensure product specifications are being followed to meet demands
  • Examining product at various stages for variations from standard
  • Supervising, coordinating activities, and issuing instruction to employees in their department
  • Coordinating with maintenance to eliminate excessive and unnecessary downtime of machinery
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position. This is a safety sensitive position.



Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Fabrication Supervisor position should possess the following:

  • Significant departmental job knowledge and/or previous job experience
  • Good attendance record and limited corrective action reports with previous employer (in past 12 months)
  • Ability to recognize problems that are or could be of a serious nature, reporting such problems to the General Supervisor, Superintendent, and/or Department Manager
  • Ability to interpret relevant reports and information
  • Good leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with all employees, both verbally and in writing
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
  • Ability to document extensively
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Mathematical computation and analytical skills preferred
  • Willingness to attend classes, seminars, workshops, training, etc. during/after work hours (company pays for courses, must successfully pass courses)
  • Appropriate attire required at all times

Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.
