Estimator

Provide estimates for assigned project(s) of medium size and complexity either directly or through subordinate personnel.

• A working knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through the completion of an electrical training program, two-year technical or business degree or related field; or
• Two-years' experience as electrical estimator.

• Experience in the electrical construction industry.

• Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrated conceptual estimates and financial analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.

• Perform takeoff and counts of drawings.
• 
  

  Solicitation and review of vendor and subcontractor quotes.

  Formulate top sheet.

  
  
• 
  

  Collect necessary pre-bid information including discussion of scope or project and schedule with general contractor and competitors competing in bid.

  
  
• 
  

  Determine project type and estimating parameters required: labor rate, permit costs, material mark-up and tax adjustments for project location.

  
  
• 
  

  Draft estimates on pricing sheets and collect other necessary proposal documents, such as scope letters.

  
  
• 
  

  Assist Chief Estimator in final presentation of bid and sending out proposals.

  
  
• 
  

  Participate in planning or bid transition meetings as required.

  
  
• 
  

  Follow post bid closeout procedures.

  
  
• 
  

  Perform additional duties as assigned.

  
  

• Required to maintain a valid driver's license depending on the project

• Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
