Key Responsibilities:


  • Proficient in CNC programming and machining.
  • Capable of making own set-ups on simple, easy to machine parts to single one-of-a-kind complex prototypes on a variety of materials.
  • Understand basic mechanical blueprints, requisite knowledge, which provides an ability to complete machining and inspections. The ability to record results, including generating comprehensive nonconformance reports allowing the Material Review Board to understand the non-conformance without the need for further clarification.
  • Perform all duties while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality system requirements and communicate in a professional manner.
  • Perform inspections using standard inspection equipment, i.e. calipers, micrometers, indicators, comparator, various gages, CMM and FARO arm.
  • Perform first article inspections and Engineering evaluation reports on items of moderate difficulty.
  • Perform in-process, and last piece inspections, completes documentation accurately, & maintains a neat and orderly environment.
  • Willing to learn and be capable of providing technical and operational assistance to others within CTC

Physical and Mental Demands:


  • Regularly or frequently talking, hearing, touching, grasping, standing, walking, reaching with hands/arms and performing repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement.
  • Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less, three-dimensional vision, ability to identify and distinguish colors, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus to review test results, perform testing of CSTRS, install strain gage, view PC screen, read technical manuals, calibration of machines and equipment, adjust equipment, use measuring devices, microscopes, etc.
  • Concentrated attention to precisely weigh samples and chemicals, run tests and make adjustments while in progress, calibrate equipment, write reports, operate analytical equipment, etc.
  • Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagrammatic, or schedule form.
  • Intermediate to advanced math skills to deal with mathematical relationships, algebra, geometry, and shop math (i.e. fractions, percentages, proportions, slide rule, etc.)
  • Intermediate reading and writing skills.

Work Environment:


  • Moderate to loud noise level.
  • Frequently or regularly works near fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals or moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in non-weather extreme heat conditions or is subject to oils.
  • This position is safety sensitive.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:


  • The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/machining environment. Candidates must be energetic, cooperative, flexible and willing to learn and ability to obtain a DSS "SECRET" clearance.
  • High school diploma plus additional coursework equivalent to an Associate's degree.
  • Extensive directly related technical work experience.
  • Demonstrated skill in using a variety of standard tools and laboratory equipment.
