Job Description




As a Security Officer - Apartment Patrol in Greensboro, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol buildings and outdoor areas, perform routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to requests, document observations, and communicate clearly with students, faculty, staff, and visitors while delivering customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, observe for policy violations or suspicious behavior, and communicate findings to campus contacts and/or local responders as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing direction to occupants and supporting incident documentation requirements.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident reports, use radios and/or other communication tools, and coordinate with supervisors and site representatives to support security-related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
