JOB SUMMARY

A Standard Products Service Technician at Doble Engineering will test, service, and calibrate Doble (Maryland) equipment. In this position the individual will troubleshoot, test, and calibrate all standard product lines. The Standard Products Service Technician will also communicate to Doble customers via email and telephone and also be required to troubleshoot equipment over the phone, repair and calibrate equipment in house, create quotes for in-house services and parts. This position is located at Doble's Accident, Maryland facility and reports into the Service Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Independent analysis and repair of high voltage, high current test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot system faults on relay, PLC, and microprocessor-controlled equipment.
  • Remove and replace system components to accomplish repair.
  • Operationally check equipment after repair for serviceability.
  • Conduct calibration and preventative maintenance service.
  • Use voltage and current supplies, kilovoltmeters, multi-meters, potential transformers, current transformers, and other equipment to calibrate high voltage, high current test equipment.
  • Perform preventative inspection and basic lubrication of equipment.
  • Open and close Service Orders for returned customers equipment or parts orders
  • Open and close Production Orders necessary to complete repairs
  • Prepare and deliver quotations for varying customer service quote requests including custom parts, stock parts, and services.
  • Communicate with customers to assist with troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of high voltage, high current test equipment.
  • Issues RMA requests to customers
  • Tracks RMA numbers for servicing schedule, progress, and delivery.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:



  • High School diploma or GED certificate required.
  • Education or certification(s) in related field preferred.
  • Experience considered in lieu of education.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • 0 - 3 years experience in electronics or related field
  • Proper use of electrical test equipment to include oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow directions.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to professionally communicate with customers.
  • Soldering
  • Reading schematics
  • Troubleshooting


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):



  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Manual dexterity
  • Experience with Partial Discharge Systems


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $23.40 - Midpoint $29.25
