Job Description




As a Security Officer - Part Time Driver Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document observations while communicating clearly with site personnel and visitors. In this role, you will represent a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, bringing a caring, people-first approach and acting with integrity while delivering through teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or work authorization, managing visitor check-in, and monitoring deliveries, gates and restricted areas in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to supervisors and/or client contacts, and support investigations by preserving relevant information and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
