The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Housekeeping Supervisor.
The Fox Theatre Housekeeping Supervisor will support the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the day-to-day housekeeping of the theatre, including the interior and exterior of the building, ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for the Fox Theatre.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supervise housekeeping staff and housekeeping contracted employees during event shifts or in the absence of the Manager, this position ensures efficient, timely, and safe completion of work, compliance with codes and standards, consideration for preservation and restoration expectations, and an elevation of the guest experience.
- Other duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications Required:
- 2-3 Years of experience in a supervisory role in housekeeping
- Supervise all internal and contracted housekeeping personnel during events and in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager as needed. Ensure effective application of cleaning protocols and alignment with Fox Theatre standards; maintaining positive working relationships with housekeeping contractors and vendors as needed.
- Supervise and participate in the event cleaning needs, including the cleaning of restrooms, lobbies, seating areas, dressing rooms, support areas, exterior entrances, and more as needed, during events and between events. Cleaning techniques may include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, hauling trash, and more.
- Apply the approved protocols for effective cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting the Fox Theatre interior and exterior, with an understanding and emphasis on historic spaces, materials, and finishings, and preservation and restoration expectations, that meet agreed-upon standards (like Global Biorisk Advisory Council, OSHA, etc.). Assist with training housekeeping personnel in the safe and proper usage of all housekeeping supplies and equipment based on those standards.
- Conduct inspections during events and in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to identify safety concerns, cleaning needs, or necessary repairs and maintain regular cleaning logs and audits.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required.
- Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs.
- Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder. Must be able to lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds and must be able to pull/push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a historic building
- Global Biorisk Advisory Council Accreditation & Training
- OSHA Safety & Health Specialist Certificate
- Requirement to work extended or irregular hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
