The Transportation Business Unit is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an Internship position at the Spokane, WA location to support our Roads and Highways group while working on transportation related projects. The successful candidates will work on multidiscipline projects performing independent engineering calculations and design, using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings. The work may include developing plans for freeway, highway and local roadways, signing and pavement marking layouts, traffic signal layouts, storm water facilities, and utility relocations. This work will also entail performing technical writing, quantity calculations, developing construction documents, and all supporting documentation.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with supervisor, project managers, and project team staff

  • Support design and preparation of plans in Civil3D and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) software

  • Analyze maps, reports, drawings and as-builts for design projects

  • Support preparation of reports and specifications and quantity calculations for projects

What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, with at least 2+ years of completed course work

  • Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

  • Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and Civil3D skills
