Team Lead, Public Works & Local Infrastructure, San Antonio, TX

Halff has an immediate opening for a Public Works Team Lead (P.E.) to work from our San Antonio TX office. The ideal candidate would be a servant leader that brings 10+ years of hands-on, proven experience in Public Works & Local Infrastructure/Utilities.

This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities. This position will have autonomy in managing other professional engineers, engineers-in-training, and CAD designers.

This role offers a great opportunity to a Licensed Civil Engineer looking for advancement and professional growth while honing their skills in people, project and resource management and oversight. What you will do:



  • Further develop and mentor members of the Public Works & Local Infrastructure Team
  • Team performance (production, profitability, quality, staffing, etc.)
  • Maintain and further develop client relationships throughout the Bexar County Region and South Texas including SAWS and multiple other Agencies, Cities and Counties
  • Identify business opportunities and lead successful pursuits
  • Directly manage projects and oversee project managers on various projects
  • Work closely with other Halff leaders and manage resources to successfully workshare across the company on multiple projects


What you will need:



  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas
  • At least 10 years of experience in utility and public works design
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
  • Good technical writing and communication skills
  • Experience in project scope development, professional services fee development and staffing projections
  • Experience in producing winning project proposals as lead professional/project manager
  • Strong ability to train and mentor staff
  • Must be proficient in project management, administration, and supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines
  • Positive attitude, self-directed
