Position Overview

This role leads the strategic direction, development, and implementation of the company's data architecture and business intelligence initiatives. This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in data management, analytics, and business intelligence tools. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of transforming data into actionable insights, driving data-driven decision-making, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the Company's business objectives and drives competitive advantage.

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data architectures and business intelligence solutions.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key business opportunities and challenges that can be addressed through data and analytics.

  • Oversee the design and maintenance of the enterprise data architecture, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.

  • Implement best practices for data modeling, data integration, and data governance.

  • Ensure the scalability and performance of data systems to support growing business needs.

  • Lead the development and deployment of business intelligence tools and platforms, enabling self-service analytics and reporting.

  • Drive the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization.

  • Promote a data-driven culture by educating and empowering business users to leverage BI tools effectively.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data architects, data engineers, business intelligence analysts and managers.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data privacy and security concerns.

  • Monitor and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring the protection of sensitive information.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, marketing, and operations, to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions.

  • Communicate complex data concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data-related matters.

  • Provide training, support, and development opportunities to team members to ensure high performance and engagement.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.

What You'll Bring to Zelis:

  • Bachelor Degree and 15+ years experience or Masters Degree with 10+ yrs experience in demonstrated accomplishment internally and externally; Has followership in subject matter area; Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data architectures and BI solutions.

  • Ability to think strategically and drive data initiatives that align with business goals.

  • Attends company training and regional training in area of expertise. Presents own work to members of department and external consultants and external professional societies.

  • Requires proficiency using AI tools skillfully with an understanding of how to develop/create intelligent prompts and/or agents.

  • Strong financial and operational management skills.

  • Ability to drive strategic initiatives and influence executive stakeholders.

  • Experience with organizational design and change management.

  • Experience with organizational design and change management.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data architectures and BI solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance.

  • Proficiency in BI tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data management technologies (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, Spark).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and drive data initiatives that align with business goals.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Base Salary Range

$153,000.00 - $193,800.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
