Reporting to the Associate Director of Participatory Archiving Programs, the Participatory Archiving Project Manager supports the implementation of the Blackstone River Valley Participatory Archiving Project. The project is a community-based archiving and training initiative funded by the National Park Service and based in University Archives and Special Collections in the Joseph P. Healey Library at the University of Massachusetts Boston. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Participatory Archiving Programs, the Participatory Archiving Project Manager will:
Strong candidates will have experience with public history, project management, curriculum development, and building collaborative partnerships. We expect that candidates will have:
Knowledge of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Blackstone River Valley history is a plus, but not required. This is a part-time position with a total of 10 hours per week (450 hours total) over the course of 12 months. The rate is $30 per hour. The hours allocated for this role are flexible-it may be possible or necessary for the Project Manager to work more hours during some weeks and fewer hours during other weeks. This position covers project components in the first year of this three-year grant; depending on the Project Manager's expertise and the needs of the project, there may be an opportunity to extend this position for an additional year. | |
