The Role

As a Software Strategy Lead within the Client and Graphics business unit, you will define and drive key strategic software initiatives that shape the longterm direction of a broad product portfolio. This role plays a pivotal part in engaging with strategic customers and ecosystem partners, translating their needs into software strategies and initiatives that deliver sustained value for both AMD and its partners.

You will work closely with crossfunctional team, both internally and externally, to align priorities, drive execution, and ensure successful outcomes across complex, multistakeholder initiatives.

The Person

The successful candidate is

  • A strategic, selfdirected leader with a strong passion for shaping both nearterm execution and longterm software strategy.
  • Demonstrates a systemlevel mindset with an understanding of endtoend consumer experiences across PC, Gaming, and AIrelated products, and familiarity with the Windows ecosystem.
  • Brings exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a wide range of stakeholders, including senior and executive leadership.
  • Operates comfortably in complex, crossfunctional environments, balancing strategic thinking with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead strategic software initiatives across the Client and Graphics product portfolio to strengthen competitive positioning and establish longterm thought leadership.
  • Partner closely with strategic customers and ecosystem partners to shape, align, and execute software strategies that deliver sustained, longterm value for AMD and its partners.
  • Own both nearterm and longterm strategic planning for critical software enablement, including APIs and key software components, to enable differentiated and compelling enduser experiences.
  • Drive alignment and execution through close collaboration with Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Architecture, Program Management, and Product Management teams.
  • Communicate strategy, priorities, and progress effectively to senior leadership, providing clear executivelevel updates that support informed decisionmaking and successful outcomes.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in product management, business development, and/or software engineering, with demonstrated experience driving strategic initiatives that span both technical and business domains.
  • Strong understanding of Client hardware and software ecosystems, with particular familiarity with the Windows platform and associated ecosystems.
  • Experience with consumer AI technologies and related software ecosystems, and an understanding of their impact on enduser experiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across crossfunctional teams and drive alignment toward successful outcomes.
  • Experience defining and influencing multiyear strategies, balancing nearterm execution with longterm vision.
  • 8+ years of experience in related fields

Academic Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering or a related field
  • MBA or Master's degree preferred

Location: Austin Texas (Open to Markham)
