Position Summary The Spa Manager provides essential leadership and daily operational oversight for the Spa and Fitness departments. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of guest service, maintaining departmental profitability, and fostering a professional environment for both associates and members. Key focuses include staff supervision, inventory control, payroll management, and the implementation of luxury service standards. Core Responsibilities Operational & Financial Management
- Manage the annual operating budget and provide weekly progress reports to the Director of Recreation.
- Review and approve purchase orders while maintaining rigorous inventory control procedures.
- Utilize financial plans to identify trends, measure productivity, and monitor departmental progress.
- Conduct ongoing service and product margin analysis to ensure profitability and manage operational costs.
- Ensure all spa and fitness equipment is maintained in optimal working condition.
Team Leadership & Development
- Create staffing models and review work schedules to ensure maximum revenue generation and seamless guest coverage.
- Approve all personnel decisions and provide leadership and direction to the spa and fitness teams.
- Establish and conduct etiquette and service training to ensure a "culture of care" among staff.
- Coach associates to become proactive problem-solvers who provide competitive, high-value service.
Sales & Guest Experience
- Execute the Spa's marketing strategy and ensure a consistent, professional brand image.
- Create in-house promotions and activities to stimulate sales and enhance guest engagement.
- Drive retail growth through consistent staff training, sales tools, and performance monitoring.
- Stay current on spa and fitness industry trends to maintain a high-value menu of services.
- Develop and maintain gracious and efficient front-desk procedures to ensure a premium guest experience.
Standards & Professionalism
- Ensure the spa is consistently "staged for impact" to maximize guest experience and buyer interest.
- Anticipate and identify customer needs, resolving difficult situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Maintain professional relationships with all suppliers and providers.
Employment Standards Education & Experience
- Education: Four-year college degree or professional certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in senior-level operations management (or equivalent experience) required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Comprehensive functional understanding of spa and fitness operations.
- Strong financial acumen: ability to analyze data, forecast revenue, and manage payroll/production controls.
- Proficiency in Windows and all Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Must be physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Mobility: Ability to bend, stoop, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Professionalism: Must maintain a professional attitude under pressure and adhere to associate uniform standards (including slip-resistant, enclosed-toe/heel footwear).
- Teamwork: Must demonstrate a collaborative "TEAM" mentality when interacting with co-workers and guests.
