We are seeking an Agency Automation Specialist (P&C Insurance) to support our independent agency partners. We strongly prefer candidates who are located near our Charleston, WV office and able to work a hybrid schedule; however, we are open to highly qualified home-based candidates residing in any state where we are authorized to hire, as listed on our careers page.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Agency Automation Specialist is responsible for defining and executing Encova's agency automation strategy to ensure we remain competitive and a preferred carrier for technology-enabled agencies.

This role identifies where Encova must invest and advance capabilities across agency connectivity and workflow integration-including download, comparative raters, bridging, real-time/APIs, and book roll enablement-and drives those priorities from concept through adoption and continuous improvement.

Serving as the bridge between strategy and execution, this position partners across distribution, IT, operations, and external vendors to translate market trends and agency needs into actionable initiatives that improve ease of doing business, increase submission flow, and support profitable growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Own and evolve Encova's agency automation roadmap, aligning capabilities with distribution strategy, ease-of-doing-business expectations, and market competitiveness
  • Translate industry trends (IVANS, AMS platforms, raters, connectivity models) and agency feedback into clear priorities and investment recommendations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on agency technology ecosystems; influence enterprise decisions related to automation capabilities, vendor partnerships, and integration priorities
  • Lead end-to-end implementation and optimization of agency automation capabilities, partnering directly with agencies, AMS providers, and connectivity vendors
  • Execute and oversee key capabilities, including: download setup, validation, and stabilization, comparative rater and bridging integrations, Agency management system connectivity
  • Support book roll readiness, conversions, and expansion initiatives, ensuring automation capabilities and workflows enable scalable growth
  • Design and continuously improve a scalable onboarding and enablement strategy that drives adoption of automation capabilities
  • Develop and maintain high-impact agency-facing and internal resources (best practices, training, job aids, communication materials)
  • Partner with agent-facing teams to embed automation into agency engagement and growth strategies
  • Identify and reduce friction points across onboarding, integration, and ongoing agency workflows
  • Establish and monitor automation KPIs and success metrics, linking adoption to business outcomes (submission flow, efficiency, agency engagement)
  • Analyze automation utilization, agency performance, and workflow gaps to drive data-informed improvements and prioritization
  • Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify capability gaps, adoption barriers, and opportunities for optimization
  • Build and manage relationships with key technology and connectivity partners, ensuring performance, accountability, and innovation
  • Represent Encova in industry forums, user groups, and vendor engagements to stay ahead of trends and influence future capabilities
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for agency interface issues, ensuring timely resolution and long-term fixes
  • Identify and prioritize enhancement opportunities that improve agency workflows and system performance

  • Participate in strategic initiatives that enhance agency experience and distribution effectiveness Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in agency automation, agency distribution, carrier operations, or agency technology ecosystems
  • Proven ability to define strategy and deliver execution, balancing long-term vision with hands-on implementation
  • Strong understanding of independent agency workflows and technology ecosystems, including management systems and connectivity models
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical capabilities into business value and agency outcomes
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to engage effectively with agencies, leadership, and cross-functional teams
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills across multiple initiatives
  • Analytical mindset with ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strongly preferred: Deep expertise in:
    • Download and connectivity ecosystems (e.g., IVANS)
    • comparative raters solutions
    • Agency management systems and integration models
    • Experience supporting book rolls, conversions, or large-scale agency onboarding initiatives
    • Experience working with or managing agency technology vendors and partnerships
  • Experience driving automation adoption, workflow integration, or technology-enabled process improvement strongly preferred
  • Some overnight travel required
