Leidos' DefenseManufacturing Team is seeking aSenior Director, Plant Manager - Effectors Integration Facility to lead a growing team that provides critical hardware to the warfighter. This position will be responsible for performing a key function of providing overall site leadership for complex assembly, integration, and testing of multiple effector products. The responsibilities will encompass leading an organization in a dynamic and high growth area that will execute multiple simultaneous and diverse manufacturing activities.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote a safe work environment
  • Promote a teamwork environment that fosters employee development
  • Direct and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing facility
  • Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance
  • Ensure that Quality and Compliance standards are consistently met
  • Manage financial performance of the facility
  • Develop processes to increase productivity and improve performance
  • Lead a cross-functional manufacturing team to consistently meet customer requirements
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and problem solving
  • Drive performance of KPI's and metrics associated with higher-volume manufacturing
  • Conduct operational performance reviews/meetings
  • Lead and coordinate equipment preventative maintenance plan
  • Assess and fill staffing needs as required

The candidate selected for this position will lead a cross-functional support team (Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Quality Assurance, Safety) that will lead the execution of multiple simultaneous manufacturing programs.

Basic Qualifications for this position include:

  • BS in a technical or business discipline with 12+ years of experience ORMasters in technical or business discipline with 10+ years of experience.
  • Candidate must have (7+) years' of cumulative experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or program management including supervising or leading teams and projects.
  • Candidate must have at least 7 years of direct personnel management or organizational leadership experience.
  • Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-functional teams.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
  • Candidate must be self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet customer and management deadlines as well as meet financial goals.
  • Candidate must have experience with interviewing, assessing, and hiring new personnel.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Leadership experience and technical experience in integration and test of complex electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Technical or operational experience with kinetic effectors and associated environmental stress screening or acceptance testing
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing engineering, production control, and quality assurance support teams.
  • Experience with DoD programs at multiple classification levels
  • Experience running operations via an electronic MES and MRP systems
  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint ERP software
  • Direct experience transitioning a team from prototyping to Low Rate and/or Full-Rate Production.
  • Experience with AS9100 and AS6500 standards
  • Expertise in Lean principles, Visual Management, 5S tools, and FOD programs
  • Manufacturing leadership experience in the Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive industries.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
