ABOUT THE ROLE

The Yard Supervisor oversees daily yard operations, including coordinating personnel, organizing materials and equipment, and ensuring efficient flow of precast products. This role works closely with production, dispatch, and maintenance to keep materials staged, loaded, and delivered on schedule while maintaining safety and organization standards.

Salary range $58,000- $73,500 a year. Based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Lead and coordinate yard personnel, assigning daily tasks and start times
  • Oversee yard organization, including storage of materials, finished goods, trailers, and parking areas
  • Coordinate stripping, loading, and dispatch activities to ensure equipment availability and on-time shipments
  • Manage yard housekeeping, snow removal, and grading to maintain a safe, efficient work environment
  • Direct patching work to ensure all required repairs are completed before shipment
  • Partner with maintenance to ensure yard equipment is serviced and operational
  • Monitor and manage inventory of rigging and dunnage, reordering as needed to prevent shortages
  • Track material locations and communicate load readiness and yard status to production and dispatch teams
  • Communicate daily with management and quality teams regarding production issues and completed work
  • Enforce safety policies and maintain required employee documentation and records


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused leader with experience in construction, manufacturing, or precast environments. They are organized, hands-on, and able to manage crews and priorities in a fast-paced setting while communicating effectively across departments.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • 2+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or factory environments preferred; precast experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of blueprints and proper handling of precast components
  • Understanding of rigging practices and safe material handling procedures
  • Ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate tracking of materials and supplies
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and project coordination skills in a team environment


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
