Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a research-intensive university or academic environment.
  • Familiarity with University of Georgia systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience supporting senior academic or executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of faculty affairs, academic administration, or higher education governance
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Summary
The Executive Administrative Manager serves as a senior administrative and strategic partner in the Dean's Office, operating with a high degree of independent judgment and discretion. This position acts on behalf of the Dean in advancing strategic priorities, managing complex operational matters, and ensuring the effective functioning of the Dean's Office. The role performs work directly related to the management and general business operations of the College.
This role requires exceptional judgment, discretion, initiative, and professionalism, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Significant experience providing executive-level administrative support, preferably in a higher education or complex organizational setting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency with office productivity software and administrative systems.

  • Provides strategic insight on operational and administrative matters.
  • Evaluate, redirect, organize, and prioritize matters referred to the Dean's Office; independently resolve issues or recommend courses of action to the Dean or Associate Deans.
  • Lead and manage special projects and strategic initiatives at the request of the Dean.

  • Promote excellence in operations across the Dean's Office by assessing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing improvements that enhance effectiveness and responsiveness.
  • Coordinate and oversee high-level communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with College and University priorities.
  • Manage complex and sensitive matters requiring discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Develop and maintain systems to ensure continuity of operations and timely decision-making within the Dean's Office.

  • This position provides direct supervision and oversight of 6 full time/2 part time positions and administrative functions within the Dean's Office, including coordination of work, prioritization of tasks, and performance evaluations.

  • Oversee and manage high-level scheduling, correspondence, and briefing materials.
  • Coordinate approval workflows and administrative actions across systems and other institutional platforms, exercising judgment regarding prioritization and routing.
  • Liaise with the College's Office of Development and Alumni Relations to facilitate the dean's philanthropically oriented engagements, including GAIL access and updates.
  • Liaise with the College's Office of Marketing and Communications to coordinate the dean's social media engagements.

  • Provide functional leadership and oversight of staff and administrative processes within the Dean's Office, including setting priorities, coordinating work, and contributing to performance development.

  • Stand in for the Dean, as appropriate, in meetings or discussions to facilitate progress on time-sensitive or operational matters.
