Job Summary

Responsible for the generation of timely, accurate Production Schedules detailing types and amounts of products to be produced to meet projected demand. Utilizes historical information, current trend data, and inputs from ZOLL Chelmsford MPS and S&OP process, as well as knowledge of manufacturing capacity to provide a detailed production build schedule to Production and Materials.

Essential Functions
  • Production Forecasting/Scheduling
  • Collaborate with site production, supply chain purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing engineering to understand capacity, material shortages, constraints, and needs for validation or other tests on production lines.
  • Analyzes historical and forecasted sales to develop the weekly Master Production Schedule considering all demand and requirements for production loading into ERP.
  • Develop and communicate proposed schedules and receive/incorporate feedback to produce final weekly production schedules. Including the creation of proposed monthly and quarterly production forecasts.
  • Maintains accurate data to support the master scheduling process (i.e., lead times, lot sizes, shelf life and other operating rules and conditions).
  • Balances and reconciles demand/supply in short term horizon to meet customer requirements within established policies.
  • Implements, executes and maintains Master Production Schedule policies and work instructions to ensure stability and responsiveness.
  • Identifies and resolves potential supply and demand conflicts.
  • Utilizes "what if" simulations to evaluate proposed MPS changes to determine impact executing approved changes effectively.
  • Recommends disposition of obsolete or slow-moving inventories as appropriate.
  • Participates with Manufacturing Engineering in the structure of Bills of Material.
  • Participates in the S&OP process and meetings.
  • Responsible for master production planning metrics including Schedule Efficiency and Attainment, root cause and corrective action.
  • Responsible for the creation of work orders that support the schedule.
  • Produces accurate schedules that promote efficient production.
  • Eliminates production interruptions and reduces line changeovers.
  • Works with production management, the MRB coordinator and all other departments (quality, manufacturing engineering) to ensure all discrepant production lots are dispositioned in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with the customer service and sales departments to identify and resolve any quality or delivery concerns.
  • Communicates production lead times and forecasted delivery dates on a regular weekly schedule and as needed for updates.
  • Monitors actual production versus plan and update product line schedules as necessary.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field is preferred
  • 5 - 10 years' relevant experience with direct exposure to Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control. required and
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education. required
  • APICS Certification Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing requirements and planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with computerized materials control programs and integrated ERP systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

The annual salary for this position is:

$100,000.00 to $115,000.00

This position is eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the company's bonus plan. Factors which may affect starting salary include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
