CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

We are ready to hire a Junior C/C++ Software Engineer to help develop software for a next-generation sonar array for future United States Navy submarines. This role will focus on implementing sonar signal processing algorithms, managing high-rate sonar data messaging, and handling precision timing constraints. Our close-knit team is passionate about delivering the best product to the Navy to help protect our country. Our team works closely with the Submarine community to develop solutions that allow the Navy to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll assist with software requirements analysis, participate in research and design, and develop and test software for sonar signal processing, data management, and timing. From inventing new products or enhancing existing applications, you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills and contribute to critical missions.

What you'll experience:

  • Develop C/C++ applications within a Linux environment as part of a team to meet system requirements for the Navy.
  • Develop and optimize applications running on GPU architecture.
  • Assist in implementing complex sonar signal processing algorithms.
  • Learn to manage high-rate data messaging and ensure precision timing constraints are met.
  • Write code, test, integrate and document software solutions with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Support the analysis of system, functional, and performance requirements.
  • Participate in software peer reviews.
  • Perform software unit testing and support integration and test activities.

What you bring to the table:

  • A foundational understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Familiarity with the software development process from academic or internship experience.
  • Experience with C/C++ from coursework, projects, or internships.
  • An interest in real-time systems, signal processing, or high-throughput data management.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools for development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and/or GPU architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A desire to learn and grow your technical skills.
  • Creative thinking and an ability to manage assigned tasks.

Target salary range: USD $90,833.00/Yr. - USD $100,767.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
