Maintenance Control Specialist

IMMEDIATELY HIRING! Maintenance Control Specialist FULL-TIME Remote Opportunity

  • Starting Salary: $60,000 to $89,000 annually

We're hiring a Maintenance Control Specialist to perform their duties and responsibilities as listed below in support of the company's Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate. They will be expected to possess the experience and knowledge listed in the Minimum Qualifications section below to ensure that in the execution of their duties the maintenance and alterations performed by company personnel and vendors on company aircraft are performed in accordance with the appropriate technical data and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Remote work schedules may vary and can include overnight shifts, as well as 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. shifts, depending on workload needs.

Responsibilities

  • Receives calls from pilots or technicians who are reporting aircraft systems malfunctions to approve continued operations with deferred equipment/systems in accordance with the MEL management program procedures as allowed by the model specific fleet MEL, or removing the aircraft from service if it is determined repair of the equipment/system cannot be deferred.
  • Performs as the primary point of contact for unscheduled aircraft out-of-service (OOS) events communicating aircraft status with the Regional Maintenance Manager and the Communication Center and coordinating manpower, tooling and special equipment, personnel, vendor support, replacement parts, and spare aircraft, as applicable.
  • Reviews aircraft maintenance releases and associated supporting documents for all field maintenance events to ensure all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and appropriate to the work performed.'
  • Coordinates with the Operations department designee to support the flight operations schedule and requirements, and to request pilots for maintenance reposition and check flights.
  • Enters the deferred maintenance item in the MEL Deferral Log on the company intranet site; issues MEL control numbers and maintains the MEL control log current and accurate. Closes the deferred MEL item event in the control log entering the appropriate notes upon repair of the system/component and aircraft return to service.
  • Enters unscheduled OOS events in the OOS Event Log on the company intranet site; ensures notes are entered in the event log daily if the OOS event results in a significant multi-day repair effort; closes the event after the aircraft is returned to service.
  • Maintains the Aircraft Status Board current and accurate for unscheduled aircraft OOS events; designates the aircraft as removed from service with applicable notes; approves aircraft as "In Service" and available for dispatch after the return to service process has been completed.
  • Updates the aircraft maintenance technical database program for maintenance performed affecting any scheduled maintenance requirement tracked in the program; uploads the necessary and associated documentation to the appropriate task in the program.
  • Manages the submission of 14CFR 135.415 (SDR) and 135.417 (MISR) reports ensuring the flight crew and maintenance staff completes the associated company forms in the allotted timeframe and forwards the reports to the Director of Maintenance.
  • Assists in the planning of major scheduled maintenance events at fixed-wing regional maintenance bases ensuring all resources are in place prior to commencement of the event.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience working in an FAA 14 CFR Part 135 or part 145 aircraft maintenance technical, management or quality control supporting role.
  • Significant experience administering the policy and procedures of Approved Aircraft Inspection Programs (AAIP) and aircraft Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL).
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Valid State issued Driver's license
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Federal Aviation Regulations knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Inspection Authorization Certification
  • Related experience under CFR Part 135
  • Five (5) years of turbine helicopter maintenance experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in an aircraft maintenance control or aircraft quality control function focusing on review of aircraft maintenance and alterations documentation.
