STANDARD WORK FACILITATOR

The role of an Operational Excellence Standard Work Facilitator is a joint focus with primary responsibility to facilitate mapping of processes, authoring Standard Work with subject matter experts, maintaining Standard Work, and working with the Op Ex Director and team members as required to advance McGough's Lean transformation efforts.

Qualifications:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience
  • Experience developing and applying Standard Work or managing a Standard Work system
  • 1-3 years of planning and facilitation or training
  • 2-4 years of experience in continuous or process improvement using Lean principles


Preferred:



  • 4-7 years of using Lean Principles (8 wastes, 5S, PDCA, Visual Mgmt., etc.)
  • 1-3 years of experience creating, implementing, and maintaining Standard Work
  • 2+ Years as relevant construction experience


Skills:



  • Working knowledge of the Shingo Model, process design, and improvement methodologies
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to guide productive team discussions
  • Process-oriented thinker who can clearly define activities, handoffs, and workflows
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation
  • Self-directed and dependable, with consistent follow-through on commitments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team contributor with a humble leadership style
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal and mentoring capabilities

Office and Travel:

Office: Primary location is a McGough office and hybrid several days per week

Travel: Minimal (10-20% or less); As required to local, regional, or national offices or jobsites.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Standard Work System Management



  • Serve as the steward of McGough's Standard Work system to ensure consistency and enterprise-wide adoption
  • Maintain and update Operational Excellence and Standard Work resources on the McGough intranet
  • Support leaders and teams in developing, implementing, owning, and training on Standard Work
  • Communicate updates and enhancements to workplace standards clearly and effectively


Facilitate Teams



  • Lead process mapping sessions to develop and refine Standard Work
  • Facilitate structured process improvement initiatives and ensure timely follow-up
  • Hold teams accountable to commitments while maintaining a respectful and constructive approach


Continuous Improvement



  • Collect, document, and monitor data to support improvement initiatives
  • Promote employee engagement through training, visual management tools, and internal communications
  • Apply Lean tools and methodologies to solve problems and eliminate waste
  • Partner with teams to identify and reduce defects and inefficiencies
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and empower employees to drive change


Professional Development & Collaboration



  • Build and maintain relationships with operating units, regional offices, and project teams
  • Pursues ongoing professional development through internal programs and external Lean organizations
  • Collaborates to align operational standards across the enterprise
  • Contribute to McGough's Lean and Shingo transformation strategy
  • Actively participate as a member of the Operational Excellence Team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $75,000-$120,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability. We also provide generous retirement plans, voluntary benefit plans, parental leave, substantial paid time off, and holiday pay.
