It will be more AP accounting instead of general accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Review, verify, and process invoices for payment

* Ensure invoices are accurately coded to the appropriate G/L accounts

* Process payments to vendors via ACH, bill pay, or wire transfers

* Reconcile Discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and receipts

* Scan all receivers and documents from the shipping department, merge receivers with invoices

* Monitor and report all opportunities for cash discounts

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, confirm bank changes verbally

* Communicate with vendors to resolve payment issues, discrepancies, or disputes

* Ensure compliance with vendor payment terms and conditions

* Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner

* Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies

* Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, such as aging reports and payment forecasts

* Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations

* Ensure that all payments are recorded accurately in the general ledger

* Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls related to accounts payable

* Assist in the development and implementation of AP policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy

* Assist with monitoring compliance with tax regulations

* Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the accounts payable process

* Implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce errors

* Work closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations

* Collaborate with the accounting team to support audits and financial reporting

* Coordinate with other teams to resolve any issues related to purchase orders

* Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions

* Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations

* Ensure compliance with company retention policies for financial records

* Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, such as 1099 reporting

* Monitor and enforce compliance with anti-fraud measures and segregation of duties

* Initiate and monitor freight claims for lost/damaged shipments

* Verify freight invoices with packing slips and bill of ladings

* Monitor items received on Quality Control Hold to ensure timely processing

* Complete all company credit applications for vendors

* Maintain confidentiality of company business

* Assist NA Deerland Controller and Site Leader as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

* College degree in related field is preferred.

* 1-2 years related experience

* Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to write simple correspondence.

* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Must have good organizational and time management skills.

* Must be detailed oriented and able to handle multiple priorities, requests, and changes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity.

* Standard office safety regulations.
