The Rehabilitation Services Department at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, is accepting applications for an Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist I position. This position will offer therapy services within various acute care patient populations. The Speech/Lang Pathologist will work closely with a team of experienced peers as well as other members of the interprofessional team in a large volume, fast-paced acute care environment. Candidates must have excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills. Clinical experience in acute care is strongly preferred. The selected candidate will work Sunday -Thursday, with occasional weekends and holiday coverage. Summary: Speech Language Pathologist I provides evidence-based evaluation, treatment interventions, and educational instruction to patients and caregivers with various diagnoses and impairments affecting communication, swallowing, cognition and other disorders. The clinician provides student shadowing, clinical instruction, and participates in departmental and community continuing education and outreach.
