Dental Office Coordinator
West Bank Pediatrics Clinic

The Dental Office Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients in the Pediatric Dental Clinic. This position provides exceptional customer service to patients both in person and over the phone related to scheduling, billing, and general support. They serve as the main contact for patient billing and insurance questions. They collaborate with providers and clinic staff to provide patients with a seamless experience in the clinic. This is a full-time (40 hours) position that works on-site at the Pediatric Dental Clinic (701 25th Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN)

The hours for this position are 7:45am - 4:15pm

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinates all Patient Billing for the Clinic 50%

  • Takes responsibility for financial management of areas specifically delegated by Clinic Manager, including uninsured patients.
  • Consults with patients on treatment plans, insurance, copays, deductibles, patient payments that meet the Clinic guidelines.
  • Matches payments to patients' treatment plan
  • Answer patient questions regarding proposed treatment plans, billing, and scheduling
  • Accurately receive patient payments following established protocol
  • Run financial reports to perform QA checks and reconcile business transactions
  • Reviews account status of patients prior to appointment and follows up accordingly

Customer Service/Scheduling 50%

  • Creates a welcoming and friendly clinic environment by greeting patients, visitors, and guests entering the clinic
  • Ensures patient waiting area is clean throughout the day
  • Answers clinic phones and assists patients with scheduling requests, general inquiries, and billing/payment questions
  • Monitors clinic voicemail and responds to patients in a timely fashion
  • Reviews the daily clinic schedule for accuracy
  • Arranges accommodations and interpreter services for patients
  • Completes the patient check in process ensuring all designated critical information is reviewed and updated
  • Completes the patient check out process including scheduling follow up appointments and collecting payments as needed
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma plus 4 years of general accounts transaction experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Experience answering phones in a high volume setting
  • Consistent and reliable attendance

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working in a clinical setting
  • Experience scheduling patient appointments
  • Knowledge of insurance and billing procedures in a medical/dental setting
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $24.14 - $35.11 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
