The Vice President and Head, Market Access & Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) [MA&HEOR] role provides leadership of consulting group, develops business, manages client relationships, and represents the business and service lines externally and internally. This individual has deep knowledge and experience in the market access and HEOR (MA&HEOR) services provided to industry, has proven ability to lead a team of scientific and technical experts to provide consulting and research services, and experience working with companies on strategy, research and tactical execution. The role encompasses oversight of key service lines (real world evidence; clinical outcomes assessment; US reimbursement strategy; health economics; health technology assessment (HTA); value demonstration; and digital HEOR services); this individual may also drive the development of new capabilities/services to meet client and market needs. This individual also works collaboratively on projects and internal initiatives to support the business. A background in an HEOR-related discipline, experience in MA&HEOR consulting, and broad knowledge of the space, are required, as well as knowledge across the service portfolio. The individual in this role will have successful track record of developing consulting business, managing people and growing service lines.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lead the MA&HEOR consulting organization and the group's leadership team, focusing on delivering for clients, growing the business and supporting the company's business strategy
  • Participate in Product Development and Market Access Consulting leadership team and other company teams as assigned
  • Manage high-performing team of expert consultants and researchers advising on strategy and providing research services to meet client objectives; recruit and develop senior staff
  • Set and maintain a standard of personal behavior and business ethics in line with Fortrea culture and build positive connections with colleagues
  • Provide leadership and direction for MA&HEOR activities across the company; represent the MA&HEOR business internally to promote cross-collaboration and selling
  • Oversee operations: hiring, training, performance, staffing, budgeting and delivery and modify as needed; oversee initiatives across the group in these areas
  • Develop business to expand client accounts and develop new clients; participate in sales calls, pitches, and bid defenses; support team members in these efforts and in cross-selling
  • Drive innovation and advance consulting service offerings to respond to market/client needs
  • Direct and contribute to development of complex proposals to meet client demands (MA&HEOR and company proposals); collaborate to support company needs and client goals
  • Manage capacity and utilization across multiple projects and sub-teams; ensure timely, budget-compliant project delivery; maintain quality standards
  • Effectively manage internationally remote and culturally diverse teammates
  • Meet financial objectives per group goals
  • And all other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Minimum, Masters-level degree in relevant field (eg, health economics, epidemiology, reimbursement and policy, clinical outcomes assessment, health services research, etc.)
  • Strong skills leading a multi-disciplinary team; ability to communicate effectively with multiple and varied audiences
  • Financial management skills
  • Strong managerial, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Exemplary skills in HEOR; in depth experience and knowledge in one or two such fields
  • Demonstrated record of establishing, maintaining, and expanding client relationships
  • Experience leading large multi-disciplinary projects, providing strategic and methodological guidance and demonstrating success in terms of business development and client relationships
  • Strong ability to innovate, develop and execute business strategy, and develop solutions to complex client and market challenges
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • Extensive experience leading service-oriented MA&HEOR team in consulting environments

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Exemplary skills in business strategy and client management; exemplary technical knowledge and problem-solving ability; extensive experience with client relationship management
