What to Expect

Consider before submitting an application:

This position is expected to start May 2026 and continue through summer term (ending approximately August 2026 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About the Team

As a Training Intern within Tesla's Gigafactory Texas Manufacturing Training organization, you will support the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs that directly impact workforce readiness and production quality across the factory. You will work closely with instructors, subject matter experts, and training program managers to create scalable training solutions, improve new-hire onboarding, and strengthen operational excellence across shops at Gigafactory Texas.

This is an opportunity to gain real-world experience in a high-velocity manufacturing environment while contributing to training initiatives used by thousands of Tesla employees.


What You'll Do

Training Support and Operations

  • Support scheduling and coordination of Instructor-Led Training (ILT), On-the-Job Training (OJT), shop-specific onboarding, and pilot sessions
  • Manage rosters, attendance, and certification tracking in Tesla's LMS
  • Assist instructors during live training, observe sessions, capture improvement opportunities, and document feedback

Data, Metrics, and Reporting

  • Compile training metrics such as participation, certification status, and seat hours
  • Support analysis of quality indicators tied to training (FPY improvements, error modes, operator drift insights)
  • Review dashboards and weekly reports in Excel, Presentation, and SharePoint to support leadership visibility
  • Assist in evaluating training effectiveness and operational KPIs

Content Development and Learning Design

  • Help create or update training materials including facilitator guides, learner guides, assessments, SOP-aligned job aids, and task-based checklists
  • Apply Adult Learning Theory, Bloom's taxonomy, and performance-based learning design to enhance content quality
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts from Production, Quality, and Engineering to ensure technical accuracy

What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in program in Education, HR, Organizational Development, Communications, Engineering, Business, Psychology, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; ability to work with data and dashboards
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable navigating a fast-moving environment
  • Passion for training, learning development, and manufacturing operations
  • Experience creating presentations, charts, and graphs preferred
  • Familiarity with Adult Learning Theory, Kirkpatrick's Four Levels, Phillips ROI Model, ADDIE, and Bloom's Taxonomy preferred
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments or technical training programs preferred
  • Experience with an LMS and data visualization tools such as Power BI or ZipLabs preferred
