Job Purpose:

The Staff Accountant - Deal Booking is responsible for employing proper accounting methodology in recording the sale of medium and heavy duty trucks. In addition, the Staff Accountant - Deal Booking will ensure that proper vehicle sales documentation is on file, commissions are submitted to payroll accurately and in a timely manner, vehicle tax liabilities are properly recorded and internal controls are enforced.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and perform cost accounting entries for all vehicle sales
  • Verify accuracy of gross profit analysis
  • Accurately calculate and administer commissions based on company policy
  • Properly record federal excise tax and state tax liabilities related to vehicle sales
  • Ability to organize, validate and maintain required documentation related to vehicle sales that is obtained from multiple sources.
  • Routinely audit balance sheet accounts associated with vehicle sales
  • Publish regular status reports related to the truck sale process
  • Contribute to the successful completion of annual audit and other audits as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and minimum 1 year related accounting experience
  • Must possess a broad knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize duties and ability to multitask is a must.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Google applications and Microsoft Excel required
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Dependable and reliable attendance required
