University Information Technology Services (UITS) is seeking an Instructional Technology Professional II to join the Instructional Technology Integration & Build Team within IT Support Services. This position provides comprehensive technology support for learning environments across multiple University of Arizona locations. Responsibilities include A/V system design, installation, integration, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality instructional and event technology experiences. The role involves consulting with faculty, staff, and students to assess needs and resolve technical challenges while delivering efficient, reliable service. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service skills, control system programming expertise, broad technical expertise with audio/visual and instructional technology systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Success in this role requires adaptability, collaborative problem-solving, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with campus partners. The successful candidate is required to obtain (if not already obtained) Crestron CTI-Commercial Technician and Extron AV Associate Certifications, AVIXA CTS, and Dante Level III certification within 12 months of employment. - Plan, design, and integrate audio/visual and instructional technology systems for classrooms, conference spaces, and specialized learning environments.
- Evaluate room needs, create design documentation, and recommend equipment and infrastructure to meet instructional goals.
- Install, configure, and test A/V hardware and software, including displays, projectors, audio systems, control interfaces, and network-connected devices. Ensure systems are optimized and fully functional prior to use.
- Lead classroom technology services projects and act as a point of contact for campus partners.
- Program Crestron and Extron Control systems to accurately control room systems.
- Update existing control programs to accommodate equipment changes.
- Update and troubleshoot instructional technology and computer systems in classrooms.
- Diagnose and repair A/V, computer, and network equipment.
- Perform regular system upgrades to ensure functionality and security.
- Troubleshoot system failures and implement solutions to restore performance.
- Schedule and conduct maintenance to identify and correct inefficiencies.
- Support faculty and staff in their use of classroom and other AV technology including providing training, documentation, and on-site assistance.
- Communicate upgrades, new technologies, and new technology processes to location team.
- Ensure classrooms and AV technology are ready for daily use and monitor needs during use.
- Participate in location activities as a member of the distance education team.
- Serve as a member of a cross-departmental location-based team to offer best-in-class distance student and faculty support services.
- Serve as IT liaison for the location back to home departments or colleges for all university personnel at the Tucson locations.
- Provide troubleshooting and desktop support to university personnel and students at the Tucson locations.
- Provides first-tier support to end users for PC, applications, hardware and network issues.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identifies hardware, software, and other resources necessary to accomplish unit tasks and support location activities.
- Support telecommunication installation and maintenance at various locations.
- Assist university IT in performing server and network maintenance on-site.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the installation, updating and troubleshooting of classroom instructional technology and computer systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning A/V, computer and network equipment.
- Knowledge of computers, networks, audio and video equipment, including but not limited to: wired and wireless microphones, network switches, consoles, I/O patch panels, control systems, and Digital Sound Processors.
- Knowledge of building and modifying equipment rack systems.
- Working knowledge of Crestron and/or Extron control system programming.
- Ability to be flexible to the rapidly changing needs of the department and university.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Ability to travel between multiple University of Arizona locations.
- Ability to manage time effectively, handling multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to
50lbs. - Ability to drive a golf
cart. - Ability to ascend and
descend ladders. - Occasionally work in confined spaces.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Audio/Visual Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or other relevant certifications (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC).
- Experience in programming HTML 5.
- Experience in programming Simpl, Simpl+ and C#.
- Three or more years of experience with A/V design, integration, and support in learning or enterprise environments.
- Experience configuring and programming control systems (e.g., Extron, Crestron).
- Experience with project management or coordinating technology installations.
- Experience with higher education or large-scale, multi-site environments.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
