Job Summary:

Serve as Project Manager on significant initiatives across multiple departments as assigned, exercising project management best practices according to the bank Project Management Office Standards and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) Methodology and Framework.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops project plans utilizing the company Project Management's Office's PMLC Methodology and Framework in conjunction with assigned departments' management and the relevant business partner(s) to ensure project requirements, priorities, and risks are addressed.
  • Communicates project progress and status to all stakeholders and Executive Management to align with company strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Tracks project finances include accurate estimation, planning and tracking of expense budgets to meet projected solution development and operational requirements.
  • Oversight of all project related Change Management activities as well as Quality and Testing activities.
  • Perform in a leadership role while coordinating with business or vendor Project Management staff, if applicable.
  • Recognize and address multiple options for how to progress with projects including issues, risk, and decisions. Drive Change Management to adjust schedules, financing, and deliverables as required.
  • Perform quality control on projects throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
  • Supports the Project Management Office (PMO) processes including scheduled Status Briefs, Scorecards, Cross-Functional meetings, Project Management Information Software tracking, and documentation, and performing Lessons Learned.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the changes in the Project Management profession.
  • Utilizes Lessons Learned to identify and recommend opportunities for improvement in Project Management Office Standards and PMLC.
  • Maintains knowledge of current IT tools relevant to all areas of project management.
  • Ability to lead projects across multiple lines of business.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.
  • Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees consistent with Southside Bank's mission, CORE Values, and Blue Book culture guide.
  • Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to Southside Bank customers and employees.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established at Southside Bank.
  • Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank's Information Security Program.
  • Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Additional Functions:

  • Supervises/manages/directs the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of project team members.
  • Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned or directed.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related discipline, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience in leading projects.

Necessary Skills:

  • Innovative thinker.
  • Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Workfront software is preferred but can be trained.
  • Solid knowledge of Project Management Institute standards and/or PMBOK.
  • Knowledge of various meeting software and facilitation of meetings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational behavior and consultative skills, including:
    • Leadership and communication
    • Negotiation, prioritization and conflict resolution
  • Advanced project management techniques including risk assessment/mitigation, estimating, planning, decision and dependency analysis, quality assurance; Proven record of successful application of these skills.
  • Team builder: able to work with and influence colleagues across multiple departments that must provide service in an integrated way to deliver and operate the solution successfully. Building strategic working relationships.
  • Able to develop and sustain sound working relationships and credibility at all levels within the global business and with external consultants.
  • Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
  • Prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.
  • Proven record of effective and accurate estimation skills related to cost, schedule, and resources.
  • Independent issue management including assessment, resolution, and escalation as necessary.

Physical Activity/Dexterity:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers. Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Physical Environment Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.

Work Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Available for overtime, as needed.
  • On call 24 x 7.

Travel:

  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
