As a Security Officer - Armed Gatehouse Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal at a residential community access control post where you will greet residents and guests, verify credentials, manage gate entry systems, and document security-related activity with clear communication. You will stay visible, provide helpful customer service, and support a calm, welcoming environment while helping to deter incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and delivery drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential community location.
• Control access at entrances by verifying identification, issuing visitor and/or vendor access credentials as authorized, maintaining entry logs, and directing vehicles and pedestrians to approved routes.
• Monitor entry points and surrounding areas for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or local responders as needed.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and written reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, amenities, and the perimeter to check doors, gates, and community property; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 1+ years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
