The Office of Audit and Compliance (OAC) at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for a Senior Auditor. The Office of Audit and Compliance assists UVA's Board of Visitors and University management in the discharge of their oversight, management, and operating responsibilities by providing independent assurance and consulting services to the University community. Senior Auditors play a key role in an audit's success, performing essential duties to ensure high-quality work that meets professional standards and the appropriate department methodology.The Senior Auditor will conduct value-added operational, financial, and compliance audits, as well as consulting projects. Senior Auditors are encouraged to work both independently and as part of a team. The position offers meaningful opportunities to strengthen communication, writing, and data analysis skills, learn effective time management and multitasking strategies, and build trusted relationships across the organization with professionalism and integrity. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, information systems, data analysis, or a related field. Experience: Two to three years in a staff auditor role with increasing responsibility; experience handling all phases of an audit independently is required. Preferred Qualifications
Additional Job Posting Information Financial recognition available for department-approved certifications obtained while employed with the UVA Audit Department. Reimbursement available for the annual maintenance of two department-approved professional certifications or memberships, as well as pre-approved registration and travel expenses associated with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. Auditors are required to obtain 40 hours of CPE credits annually. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Anticipated Hiring Range: $95,000 - $105,000, commensurate with education and experience.
