The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Product Manager to join our team. This role supports the vision, strategy, and delivery of key Line of Business (LOB) and/or Corporate Service Unit (CSU) products and their roadmaps.

The position is responsible for product management, project coordination, and cross-departmental implementation leadership for the Stratus Manufacturing platform, which supports construction fabrication and Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) functions across McKinstry. This work sits at the intersection of product management, configuration governance, and operational coordination.

The Product Manager will work closely with the business to manage the configuration of the Stratus platform, govern the configuration backlog, and ensure enhancements are executed in a controlled, predictable manner.

This position is based in Seattle, WA, enabling direct proximity to fabrication facilities in the Pacific Northwest, more efficient onsite support and quicker turnaround for shop-floor needs, and periodic travel to remote fabrication facilities for configuration validation and implementation alignment. This onsite presence is essential for managing a production-critical system with hands-on operational workflows.

The ideal candidate for this position is a strategic, customer-focused problem solver who can operate comfortably in ambiguity while balancing business goals, user needs, and technical constraints. They communicate clearly, collaborate effectively across teams, use data to guide decisions, and turn strategy into actionable plans. A successful Product Manager is curious, adaptable, execution-oriented, and able to influence stakeholders to deliver meaningful, high-impact products.

Key Responsibilities:

Cross-Departmental Implementation Management

  • Facilitates the recurring Stratus implementation stand-up meetings.

  • Coordinates work among Manufacturing, Construction, VDC, IT, and field teams.

  • Maintains alignment between business needs and technical implementation.

Product Management & Enhancement Planning

  • Manages the roadmap and prioritization of Stratus enhancements.

  • Oversees the slow-roll deployment strategy for enhancements to minimize operational disruption.

  • Ensures system development aligns with fabrication workflows and evolving shop needs.

Configuration Management Support

  • Manages the configuration of the platform, the ServiceNow queue in support of Stratus and provides break fix support and vendor coordination when necessary.

  • Provides functional oversight to ensure system configurations support business workflows.

Operational Support for Fabrication Facilities

  • Addresses system issues, supports user engagement, and liaises with vendor resources.

  • Provides hands-on support for fabrication facilities across multiple regions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Succeed at McKinstry:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in configuration management of technology solutions within the construction, fabrication, or off-site manufacturing (OSM) fields; or three years of direct Stratus configuration experience.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business and partner pain points, translating needs into technology-driven solutions using the Stratus platform.

  • Build strong, collaborative stakeholder relationships while applying product management expertise to deploy scalable solutions that improve user experience and performance.

  • Comfortable with collaborating with personnel to observe workflows, identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and operate safely in an industrial environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, including SharePoint, MS Project, and Power BI, is a plus.

  • Experience with the Stratus Manufacturing platform is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Demonstrate and embody McKinstry's core values in daily work, decision-making, and collaboration.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
