Title: Patient Access Specialist - Call Center

Location: Jupiter, FL 33458
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Work Setting: 100% Onsite (5 days/week)
Employment Type: Permanent

Position Summary

The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for delivering a high-quality, patient-focused customer experience within the Cancer Institute call center. This role supports patients by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting required documentation, and ensuring accurate and complete registration. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with patients both over the phone and in person.



Key Responsibilities



  • Answer inbound calls and schedule patient appointments for the Cancer Institute
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and medical information
  • Perform insurance verification and determine medical necessity for services
  • Identify patient financial responsibility and collect applicable payments
  • Ensure accurate data entry and documentation in all required systems
  • Act as liaison between patients, clinical staff, and internal departments
  • Secure required documentation to complete patient registration
  • Maintain compliance with federal and third-party payor requirements
  • Support front desk operations as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned



Must-Have Qualifications



  • Call center experience and/or appointment scheduling experience
  • Strong phone presence and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Front desk experience in a healthcare setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent



Required Experience



  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with hospital insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO)
  • 2-4 years of healthcare experience in an outpatient setting
  • Knowledge of outpatient procedures and medical terminology
  • Familiarity with managed care plans and contractual terms
  • Understanding of federal and third-party payor requirements
  • Strong typing and computer skills
