DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support related to construction materials and pavement design, while also addressing concerns regarding construction and maintenance materials. Your duties will include reviewing clearance transmittals and overseeing the District's Materials Unit and Pavement Section, which focus on testing and controlling materials utilized in construction and maintenance projects. Additionally, you will manage the district's pavement engineering and design functions, resolve complex project challenges, and offer expert guidance on technical issues. This role also requires directing the inspection, testing, and control of various construction materials, ensuring accurate documentation of procedures and results, investigating rejected materials, and preparing reports to address any quality assurance discrepancies. A significant aspect of your responsibilities will involve participating in the review and approval of mix designs for different materials. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the appropriate speciality and one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
Post Employment Requirement:
- For the Bridges and Transportation parentheticals, successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer License issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six month probationary period.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
