DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Facility Safety Manager, you will be overseeing the total facility safety program, including accident and fire prevention and security. Work involves annually reviewing and inspecting fire and safety equipment as well as developing and implementing facility safety policies, procedures, and training. You will have the opportunity to implement accident and fire avoidance protocols and security measures to ensure the preservation of facility property and the safety of inmates, employees, and visitors. You will also be responsible for compiling time sensitive reports, investigating accidents, and facilitating the monthly safety meetings. Additional duties include:
- Reviewing the safety of community work sites
- Responding to inmate grievances
- Overseeing the use and distribution of chemicals within the facility
- Implementing environmental safety programs
- Acting as a liaison with the Department of Environment Protection (DEP) on inspections and incidents
- Overseeing asbestos abatement and lead paint removal

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
