The Role: We are looking for our next Technical Business Developer - Specialized Nutrition within our Customer Technical Service team. The Technical Business Developer - Specialized Nutrition will lead technical support and go-to-market strategy for Americas customers, primarily in our western territory, driving Specialized Nutrition business growth through technical expertise, customer relationship development, training, and sales funnel expansion. This position is located in either Geneva, IL (hybrid + travel) or California (remote + travel). Compensation: The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $120,000- $160,000. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location. What You'll Do:
- Lead technical support for Americas customers, aligning closely with Sales to execute a strong go-to-market strategy.
- Define and drive technical action plans supporting regional commercial objectives and Specialized Nutrition segment growth.
- Build, nurture, and expand strategic customer relationships through solution-based technical selling.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, trade shows, customer events, and industry engagement to grow the sales funnel.
- Serve as the "voice of the customer," ensuring strong communication between customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, R&D, and Applications Teams to support promotional campaigns and regional sales strategy.
- Collaborate with global teams to align regional initiatives with broader business objectives
- Support Innovation initiatives by partnering with customers and staying current on industry trends and regulations.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage multiple projects effectively with strong attention to detail, critical thinking, negotiation skills, and a results-driven mindset.
What You'll Need: Education:
- MS in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in food product development, food ingredients, or protein technical sales, with strong interpersonal skills and commercial acumen.
- Solid understanding of ingredient functionality, interactions, processing, and finished food applications.
- Experience in nutritional and health-focused applications such as protein blends, nutritional bars, and snacks preferred.
- Strong business acumen, with understanding of food ingredients, finished product markets, and key drivers of financial growth.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal and external teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills:
- Ability to deliver clear, compelling, and concise messages.
- Active listener who verifies understanding and responds effectively to stakeholder questions.
- Proven ability to present technical information confidently to external partners and customer groups.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position.
- Standard business hours with flexibility for customer-facing activities and travel.
- Geneva location is expected to be onsite 3 days per week.
