GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • This will be a full-time position, working under the Center's hybrid model which requires 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
  • The QI lead will perform all duties independently and professionally with minimal direction from the Program Director and Program Manager.
  • The QI Lead will be working on a suicide prevention program integrated in the Center for Health Services Research and Behavioral Health.
  • The QI lead will be responsible for training providers, communicate with clinic staff, and helping program directors develop training materials.
  • They will also be responsible for leading quality improvement across project sites.
  • The QI Lead develops, supports, and evaluates QI at all project sites.
  • QI lead will help to guide implementation plans with providers and clinics across sites.
  • Background in behavioral health, especially suicide prevention is ideal.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking/presenting.
  • The CQI QI Lead performs all duties independently and professionally with minimal or no direction and consults with the Program Manager and Directors as appropriate.
  • The QI lead will lead or co-lead large collaborative teams, guide implementation plans, and act as a consultant or facilitator on regulatory, patient safety, and quality improvement issues for the collaborative.
  • They must be comfortable with public speaking/presenting and are responsible for educational materials and presentations each year regarding QI processes and keys to quality improvement success.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related field.
  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience, with two years project management and/or process improvement experience preferred.
  • OR
  • Master's degree in related field such as nursing, health care administration, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience and competency, including at least two (2) years of experience with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a QI/PI lead or facilitator:
  • Broad Business unit and System level, multidisciplinary experience.
  • Experience in educational curriculum design and delivery is an asset.
  • Experience with clinical quality and patient safety principles/initiatives; demonstrated ability to apply concepts.
  • Experience with new program/initiative development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Computer skills include knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Care Plus, electronic mail and Internet navigation software.
  • Ability to problem solve independently and work with minimal direction.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with senior leaders and large teams with diverse members.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to adapt, respond and prioritize in a rapidly changing healthcare environment and ability to successfully manage multiple competing demands.
  • Ability to act as a change agent, providing direction to others and gaining their support.
  • Basic understanding of the research process and statistical analysis.
  • Strong leadership/mentoring skills and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the System.
  • Strong base of patient safety knowledge including human factors and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Understanding of health care cultures including medical and nursing cultures.
  • Sound decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.
