What this job involves:

Drive strategic occupancy excellence as a Senior Occupancy Planner with JLL, where you'll be responsible for providing strategic occupancy planning expertise while leveraging deep understanding of client space supply and demand to develop scenario and strategic occupancy plans for client portfolios in designated regions. You'll foster critical relationships between various individuals and organizations including Corporate Real Estate, Business Unit leadership, Corporate Finance, Project Management, and Move Coordination teams while serving as Subject Matter Expert in client workplace programs and using data to drive solutions that increase productivity. This role positions you at the center of occupancy strategy development, where your expertise in space utilization analysis, stakeholder relationship management, and strategic planning will directly impact space optimization and client satisfaction. Your contributions will support JLL's occupancy planning excellence while you manage development of short, medium, and long-term strategic occupancy plans, monitor utilization metrics, resolve planning issues, and ensure alignment with corporate guidelines maximizing space use.

What your day-to-day will look like:

*Strategic Occupancy Planning:Manage development of short, medium, and long-term strategic occupancy plans while developing migration plans, monitoring utilization and unassigned seating metrics, and resolving planning issues identified during client sessions

*Stakeholder Relationship Management:Foster critical relationships with Corporate Real Estate reviewing planning forecast requirements, Business Unit leadership collecting headcount forecasts, Corporate Finance gathering growth projections, and Project Management teams supporting implementation

*Data Analysis & Reporting:Prepare and update project status reports on actual versus projected seat demand at building or division levels, report on current supply and capacity, forecast inventory changes, and reconcile discrepancies from top-down projections

*Space Policy & Standards Management:Recommend, educate, and enforce space policies, standards, procedures, and protocols while notifying clients of customer-requested exceptions and assisting in developing site-specific Planning Strategies with Senior Leadership

*Cross-Team Collaboration:Work with Move Coordination and Facility Management teams reviewing and approving moves, developing migration plans, conducting facility audits, and collaborating with occupancy planning teams ensuring portfolio strategy development

*Client Advisory & Communication:Interact with organizational leadership identifying space requirements, understand client underlying needs through strategic questioning, and communicate complex ideas clearly to executive-level internal and external clients

*Technology & Innovation:Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookup, consolidate data and floor plans into PowerPoint presentations, and leverage CAFM/IWMS software supporting planning solutions and clear communication

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Real Estate, or related field with 3-6 years of work experience within facilities, space planning, occupancy planning/management, or CAD/CAFM related roles
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, vlookup, cell calculations, strong PowerPoint abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to consolidate data into compelling presentations
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to understand complex ideas, communicate them effectively, and interact with executive-level clients across diverse organizational contexts
  • Expert-level data analytical skills with ability to articulate stories through data, think strategically simplifying complex challenges, see big picture driving results, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity toward digital innovation
  • Ability to lead through influence while being highly organized balancing multiple high-priority items, working independently, multi-tasking, and managing time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy particularly with numbers and spatial creativity, ability to thrive on change with appetite for risks, and proactive innovative approach to solution development
  • Capability to ensure alignment of planning with corporate guidelines, maximize space use scenarios, and drive implementation of solutions while reorganizing schedules to address changing necessities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in space/occupancy planning at strategic level with experience in interior office renovations and change management demonstrating understanding of complex workplace transformation initiatives
  • AutoCAD and CAFM system experience with Tableau experience desired, demonstrating capability to leverage advanced tools for enhanced occupancy planning and data visualization
  • Working knowledge of occupancy utilization, office design principles, and workplace trends such as mobile or collaborative workplace environments with understanding of emerging workplace strategies
  • Experience supporting construction projects, implementing planning strategies, or coordinating complex workplace initiatives that demonstrate understanding of project lifecycle management
  • Background managing executive-level client relationships, supporting account growth, or leading cross-functional teams in complex corporate real estate environments
  • Professional certifications in facility management (FMP, CFM), space planning, or related disciplines with active participation in industry organizations demonstrating commitment to continuous learning and thought leadership
