The Human Resources Data Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory serves as a strategic analytics partner to HR leadership, translating complex workforce data into clear, compelling insights that inform executive decision-making. This role blends advanced data science capabilities with strong business acumen, executive-level communication, and a customer-service mindset focused on HR stakeholders. The successful candidate operates comfortably at a very high technical level while remaining grounded in practical application: designing sophisticated analytics solutions and applying them to real-world HR questions that matter to senior leadership. Portfolio Submission (Preferred) Candidates are encouraged to submit a portfolio or work samples that demonstrate their ability to design, build, and deliver impactful analytics solutions. Examples may include executive-facing dashboards, data visualizations, or analytic tools that show both technical depth and practical application-particularly work that has informed leadership decision-making. Portfolios may include screenshots, links, or brief descriptions of prior work. Redacted or anonymized data is acceptable and encouraged where proprietary, sensitive, or confidential information is involved. The portfolio helps us assess how candidates design and deliver executive-ready analytics-combining technical depth with clear, practical insights that support HR leadership decision-making. Job Information: The pay range for this position is: Level 4: $95,256 - $195,288 Level 5: $114,360 - $234,336 At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to handle materials, manipulate tools, keyboard, and type, reach with hands and arms, and operate job-related equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
