Position Overview:

This individual is responsible for executing, overseeing and coordinating all facets of acquiring goods and services, securing the best value, quality and delivery in conjunction with manufacturing, inventory and installation goals. Supervises and coordinates the daily operational activities required.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs, forecast demand, and develop procurement plans accordingly.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
  • Integral part of negotiation of contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and contractual agreements.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and product specifications to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Oversee and execute the purchase order process, ensuring accurate and timely purchase order creation, issuance, and tracking.
  • Oversee the supplier evaluation and qualification process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Assist with supplier-related issues, including disputes, quality concerns, delivery delays, and payment discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, fleet, installer and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the procurement process.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the purchasing team, including training and input on performance evaluation.
  • Supervise related inventory transactions from receiving transactions, debits or invoice discrepancies
  • Responsible for scheduling inventories along with review of reconciliation
  • Manage obsolete, slow moving, and offsite inventory
  • Integral in the annual standard cost setting process for all responsible items


Position Requirements:

College graduate with APICS and or Purchasing Certification preferred. Position requires strong knowledge of MRP and related systems. 3 years experience in inventory control is required along with PC skills for generating detail reports and spreadsheets. The position requires good problem solving and decision making skills.

Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking, lifting in an office environment. Ability to verbally communicate at all levels. Ability to function in a dynamic environment.
