Job Description
  • Responsible for assisting in ensuring products are suitable and abiding by the standards and regulations for the fire suppression market.
  • Assist with managing compliance projects by working with a cross-functional team which includes Quality, Product Management, Procurement, and Product Development to resolve issues.
  • Perform research to understand, learn, and know requirements for product compliance for fire suppression products.
  • Work with regulatory agencies such as: UL, FM, etc. for product approvals/compliance and associated listings.
  • Assist with R&D efforts involving hands-on prototype development, function testing and required performance/verification testing.
  • Maintain product continuous improvement efforts supporting production.
  • Create technical documents and instruction literature as needed.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic workload: from multi-tasking to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects.
  • Ability to manage projects to be completed on-time and on-budget.
  • Willingness to work and assist with other engineering team projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing or already hold Bachelor of Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Materials, or Fire Protection Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited university.
  • Excellent team communication, time management, human relations, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy.
  • Self-directed, energetic, dependable, and thorough.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.

Summary Of Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and may involve exposure to moderate noise levels.

While conducting R & D efforts, this position may involve working with hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold).

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job. Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
