Job Title: Cloud Engineer Location: Mclean, VA or Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Duration: 6 Months Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, DevOps practices, Ab Initio, and Python development to support critical data and cloud transformation initiatives for Client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building, automating, and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms while ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, Infrastructure, and Application Development. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud solutions on AWS Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevOps best practices Develop and maintain Ab Initio ETL workflows and graphs Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) Develop Python scripts for automation, data processing, and integrations Monitor cloud infrastructure and ensure system reliability and performance Implement security and compliance best practices aligned with enterprise standards Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis Collaborate with data teams to optimize cloud-based data pipelines Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Cloud / DevOps Engineering Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, etc.) Experience with Ab Initio development (GDE, EME, Conduct>IT) Proficiency in Python scripting Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes preferred) Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture Experience with version control systems (Git) Knowledge of Agile methodologies Preferred Qualifications AWS Certification (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer) Experience working in Financial Services or Banking domain Experience with big data tools (Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark - nice to have) Strong problem-solving and communication skills Soft Skills Ability to work in fast-paced, enterprise environments Strong stakeholder communication Ownership mindset and proactive attitude | |
