Join Clariant as a Senior Chemist, where you will design and formulate Integrity Management (IM) products, validate their performance through application testing, and strengthen laboratory evaluation methods. You will lead technical projects, manage laboratory work independently, and serve as a key technical contact supporting innovation and customer needs.In this role, you will collaborate with global and commercial teams to translate scientific expertise into practical solutions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence.


Responsibilities



  • Workstream leader and/or technical project leader of Class 1 & Class 2 I2M projects for development of new IM products. Interface with colleagues from global research centres Surfactants & Polymers as well as high throughput team as necessary
  • Manage lab work independently of supervisor, analyse data, and present during project meetings
  • Manage technical service requests independently of supervisor, engage with requestor, conduct experiments, analyse results and prepare report to be shared with requestor / customer
  • Train junior and/or regional colleagues on equipment and modelling
  • Work safely, ensuring highest safety practices at all times and adherence to safe lab working practice requirements
  • Adapt and develop new standard operating procedures as required
  • Global technical contact for innovation and product related requests in area of IM, provide support to sales and marketing colleagues
  • Keep abreast of all developments in area of IM, monitor literature and patents from competitors, customers and suppliers
  • Attend global industry conferences as contributor and keep up to date with developments in IM



Requirements



  • Postgraduate degree, ideally PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering etc.
  • Knowledge of synthetic chemistry considered a plus
  • 5+ years' experience expected, which may include PhD,
  • Proven track record of success in R&D knowledge of synthetic chemistry considered a plus
  • Ability to develop skills for customer interactions, sales skills and value-based selling
