We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to facilitate the creation and maintenance of Engineering Product Data (3D models, drawings and BOMs) at Bruker AXS LLC located in Kirkland Washington. The Mechanical Designer role involves working closely with R&D Scientists and Manufacturing Engineers to create CAD models, drawings, and BOMs. You will work throughout the entire product lifecycle, supporting research projects and prototypes through to initial production release, and executing design changes during assembly/integration/test and post-delivery.

The Bruker EXS-EM (Electron Microscopy) division located in Kirkland, WA is searching for a new Strategic Buyer to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of procurement strategies: You are responsible for designing and implementing national and international procurement strategies to ensure the company's long-term competitiveness.
  • Supplier management: You identify, evaluate, and develop supplier relationships. This includes conducting tenders, contract negotiations, and concluding contracts at a very high level.
  • Cost management: Strategic buyers analyze and manage costs to identify and realize savings potential. This also includes optimizing total procurement costs.
  • Risk management and supply chain resilience: You are responsible for managing risks in the supply chain, including identifying potential disruptions and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Innovation management: You work closely with product development to promote innovative solutions and are used to working with key stakeholders to ensure procurement success.
  • Procurement controlling: You monitor and analyze the performance of procurement processes and strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Teamwork: You enjoy working in cross-site teams and feel comfortable conducting this work in English. With your positive attitude, you manage to create synergy effects across national and international locations.


Qualifications

Professional qualifications:
Education and studies: A completed degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Professional experience: Several years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally in an international environment. Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
Technical understanding: Strong knowledge of high-tech products and technologies. Ability to understand and evaluate technical specifications.
Project management: Experience in project management and leading procurement projects, as well as knowledge in optimizing procurement processes.

Personal skills:
Negotiation skills and hands-on mentality: Strong negotiation and communication skills that support long-term supplier partnerships. Proactive, self-responsible approach - action instead of reaction is your mindset.
Analytical skills and solution-oriented mindset: Strong analytical skills to evaluate offers and identify savings potential. Discussions are guided by solutions rather than problems.
Teamwork and sense of responsibility: High commitment, resilience, and the ability to address cross-functional issues and lead the team to success.
Language skills: Very good English skills; additional languages are an advantage.
Application skills: Excellent ERP skills (SAP or comparable) are essential.

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $78,750 and $140,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
