Lathrop GPM, one of the nation's leading law firms, has an immediate opening for a Client Billing Specialist in our Minneapolis, MN; St. Cloud, MN; or Kansas City, MO locations. The Client Billing Specialist is responsible for supporting the billing operations of the law firm by preparing, reviewing, and submitting client invoices. This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in legal finance, offering hands-on experience with billing systems, client communications, and financial processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Prepare, review, and process legal invoices in accordance with client guidelines and firm policies.

* Communicate with attorneys and staff to resolve billing issues or discrepancies.

* Support electronic billing processes and learn to use eBilling platforms such as EBillingHub, Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or similar systems.

* Proactively monitor E-billing progress, including status reporting and audits.

* Maintain and update client billing profiles, including rates, billing formats, and special requirements.

* Generate billing reports for internal and client use.

* Ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines, including fee arrangements per engagement letters.

* Respond to client inquiries regarding invoices.

* Answer billing questions and research billing related issues.

* Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

* 2+ years of experience in billing, accounting, or administrative support (legal billing experience a plus).

* 3E Billing Software experience a plus.

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

* Willingness to learn billing software and legal billing procedures.

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment (e.g., via phone, web/videoconference).

* Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-orientated environment.

* Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in taking initiative while asking for direction or clarification and consulting others, as appropriate.

* Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.

* Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientation.

* Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.

* Ability to maintain regular attendance and work regularly scheduled hours.

* Ability to take direction and accept supervision.

* Demonstrate ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.

* Ability to work effectively with co-workers in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Current anticipated salary range for applicants as required by applicable state laws is $52,000 - 68,000 in Minneapolis. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range depending on experience and location. Full comprehensive benefit plan including health care, retirement plan and paid days off, including PTO, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
